Outcome Measures in refeRHEALTH

First Session (Pre treatment outcome measures) – Amending existing first session outcome measures (No audio)

You are able to amend previously recorded first session outcome measures where you may have selected ‘No’ when asked if they have been completed. If you receive the first session (pre-treatment) outcome measure at a later date, follow the video instructions to edit the already recorded form on session 1.

Additional outcome measures (No audio)

This is optional; you can add an additional outcome measure (one that is not the pre-outcome or post outcome measure) by following the method in the video.

Post treatment outcome measures (Final session)

Users have 3 opportunities to record a final outcome measure, please see the below videos for instructions on how to do so (note that you are only required to record the post outcome measure once, you do not have to use all 3 methods on one referral). If a measure has previously been added, at closure select ‘Already supplied or completed’.

Method 1 – In session

This is the ideal method to be used where possible.

Method 2 – Attaching the measure to an existing session

Users can attach a post treatment outcome measure to any session (with the exception of session 1) – this method is ideal for when the final session has been entered but ‘No further services’ was not selected (e.g., where a client declines further services, but an outcome measure done). Following the method in the video you can attach it to the last session.

Method 3 – Completing the post treatment outcome measure at closure

This method can be used when an outcome measure has not been supplied at the last session or attached previously. If you have already supplied an outcome measure, select the option for ‘Already supplied’.

Frequently asked questions about refeRHEALTH

Frequently asked questions about refeRHEALTH

Any service provider contracted by the DDWMPHN or WQPHN for mental health services is required to use refeRHEALTH. This has been included in your contract as the means of collecting the Primary Mental Health Minimum Data Set. All PHN funded services for mental health are required to report on the MDS, a requirement set down from the Department of Health.  refeRHEALTH has been designed to make this as easy as possible for service providers, as well as provide referrers with a convenient tool to track the progress of their referrals.

Yes, all data in refeRHEALTH is stored on servers hosted in Australia, with high levels of technical and physical security. Our developers are constantly checking for any potential security threats and RHealth staff regularly check the system logs for unusual activity. The front end of refeRHEALTH is also secured by Secure Sockets Layer technology, which creates an encrypted connection between the website and the server, this is the same level of security you would find on your online banking.

No, this is dependent on your agreement with the relevant PHN. For users in the DDWM Region, the PHN has decided to not use the invoicing system in refeRHEALTH.

RHealth is always looking to improve refeRHEALTH. If you have a suggestion for refeRHEALTH, or a potential change that you could see is beneficial to the system, please email [email protected]. Many of the changes to the system that have taken place have been based on user feedback.
Please note: While RHealth will endeavor to take all feedback on board, not all suggested changes can be implemented due to funding and technological limitations.

Our main method of training is through these online training videos, as this allows people to learn at their convenience and can be referenced again later to recap various topics of interest. RHealth can still organise training sessions by request, however our recommendation is for potential users to view the training videos first.
This is based on what is collected in the PMHC MDS. The PMHC MDS only accepts the K10+, K5 and SDQ, as such we do not have a field to record other outcome measures. If you have completed a DASS21 or other outcome measure, our recommendation is to record the total scores as a note on a referral.
The data collected as part of the PMHC MDS provides statistical data to the Department of Health around the mental health services being funded by PHNs. This data can help with service mapping, identifying service gaps and identifying high risk areas.

If you have any issues logging in or using the system please contact RHealth at [email protected] or on 07 4638 1377.

Yes, the notes you send to referrers are secure and only seen by the referrer and yourself.

If you need to record a case conference, record the session as normal, however under ‘Attendance type’ select ‘Other health professional or service provider’ and under ‘Type of service provided’ select ‘Clinical care coordination/liaison’.
A form in refeRHEALTH is where the answers to certain questions are stored for referral and sessions. You can view all session forms by simply clicking ‘View’ next to the session you want to view under the ‘Sessions’ tab. If you want to review the data collected at referral, you will need to navigate to the ‘Forms’ tab of the persons referral and click ‘View’ next to the form labeled ‘Additional referral details’.
