Building capacity of drought-affected rural and remote communities to respond to the psychological impact of drought is the aim of this Initiative. Working with key partners, including beyond blue and AgForce, RHealth’s Community Support Officer provides:
- Information service
- Access to education and training for clinicians and community leaders
- Coordination of community awareness and capacity building activities'
- Crisis Counselling
RHealth implements these activities as part of the Mental Health Support for Drought Affected Communities Initiative which is delivered by over 40 rural and remote Divisions of General Practice nationally.
