Free Pertussis Vaccine Program
Queensland Health has announced the introduction of a free Pertussis Vaccine Program commencing 1 August 2009 for birth parents, adoptive parents and foster parents of children born on or after 1 May 2009.

Your Health Our Health Conference 2009
RHealth will be holding the Your Health Our Health Conference 19-20 September 2009 at the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba. The Conference will provide sessions for GPs (Emergency Medicine and Level 1 Mental Health Training), Practice Nurses, and Practice Managers/Practice Staff with a full-day Program on Saturday 19 September and a half-day Program on Sunday 20 September. Accommodation will be subsidised for RHealth Members and eligible delegates for Friday and/or Saturday nights.
Program and registration information will be made available by Friday 14 August. The Conference will be held in conjunction with the RHealth Limited AGM and has been planned to coincide with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

The Queensland Rural Women’s Network (QRWN) is holding their State Conference in Toowoomba 19-20 September 2009. The Conference workshops are hands on, and cover topics that can help the busy rural woman ‘reignite their passion’ – whether their passion is their business, their community, the family, the environment, culture, an issue ……….

Audio Active Hearing Aids - Four New Visiting Clinics
AudioActive Hearing Aids is located at 18 James Street Toowoomba, opposite The Range Shopping Centre has now opened four new visiting clinics. AudioActive Hearing Aids has multiple clinics throughout Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. The Toowoomba clinic is aiming to provide more services to our local rural areas.
Our current visiting sites are: Dalby, Kingaroy, Warwick, Gatton, Toogoolawah and NOW Chinchilla, Crows Nest, Highfields and Wilsonton (Toowoomba).
A range of audiological tests are available including:
• Diagnostic Hearing test - Adults/Children +5yrs
• Hearing Aid Assessment - Pensioners/Private
• Industrial Hearing screen
• Medical and Pre-Employment tests
• Noise/Musician/Swim Plugs
Any relevant hearing testing needed for Enhanced Primary Care Programs is also available. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require more information on the location of our current visiting and permanent sites.

Remote Vocational Training Scheme - Round 2 Applications
The Remote Vocational Training Scheme Ltd provides vocational training towards FRACGP and FACRRM for medical practitioners in remote and isolated communities throughout rural and remote Australia.
Second round applications are now being accepted for the 2010 intake.
