Jennie Waters - Program Coordinator, Closing the Gap
Jennie Waters is the Indigenous Outreach Worker under the Closing the Gap Initiative in the South West region and has been working in this capacity part time since February 2010. Prior to this, Jennie was the Program Coordinator for the South West Partnership Council from December 2007 to January 2010. Jennie's responsibilities include linking with local Indigenous communities and health service providers to promote the role of the IOW; providing assistance to Indigenous people who would benefit from improved access to health services; promoting the benefits of health checks to communities and identifying access barriers to health service providers.
Jennie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Applied Psychology), a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and was a Ministerial appointment to the Queensland Rural Health Advisory Council until it was disbanded in 2009.
