RHealth 10 Week Waist Loss Challenge

Swap it Don’t Stop It! is the message for the RHealth 10 Week Waist Loss Challenge!

The number of South Burnett residents who are overweight is increasing, with 67.9% or two-thirds of our adult population now overweight or obese. Being overweight or having a waistline greater than 94cm for men or 80cm for women increases your risk of developing Chronic Diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.

So why should we Swap it? Having a healthy waist measurement can help you live life to the full and reduce your risk of preventable diseases. RHealth has launched their 10 Week Waist Loss Challenge this week, with the focus on South Burnett residents reducing their waist measurement to improve their health.

The challenge is team based with the winner being the team with the highest percentage of centimetres lost. There are also regular information sessions covering nutrition, physical activity, goal setting and stress management to assist the participants in making lifestyle changes that will benefit their waistlines.

Healthy Lifestyles Program Officer, Caitlin Isaac, said ‘the challenge is a great way to start the new year with some healthy habits and have some fun while doing so.’ For more information on the Challenge or to register your team contact Caitlin Isaac at RHealth on 07 4162 5230 or caitlin.isaac@rhealth.com.au
